Refractive Surgery can be reshaped surgically to repair or adjust your eye's ability to focus. In some treatments, a lens is implanted inside your eye. The most popular method of Refractive Surgery is called LASIK (Laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis), which involves reshaping the Cornea with a laser.
Some Refractive Surgery procedures might diminish a Cornea's excessively steep curvature in nearsighted patients, hence reducing the eye's focusing power. Due to a longer eye or a steeper corneal curve, images that are focused in front of the Retina are pushed up against or straight onto the Retina.
Those who are farsighted will have Refractive Surgery techniques that result in a steeper Cornea to improve the eye's focusing ability. After surgery, images that are focused outside of the Retina because of a short eye or flat Cornea will be brought close to or right onto the Retina.
Refractive Surgery methods at Sarvodaya are used to carefully reshape sections of an asymmetrical cornea to make them smooth and symmetrical in order to treat Astigmatism. As a result, images are focused clearly on the Retina as opposed to being distorted as a result of light dispersion through an asymmetrical Cornea.
Sarvodaya is well equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure and the most recent ophthalmic care technology, including the Laser Trio, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Non-contact Tonometry (NCT), Fundus Camera, Perimetry, Direct & Indirect Ophthalmoscope, Keratometer, Refractometer, and Advanced PHACO Machine with VR System, which provides precise and accurate results.
